This series of self portraits are based on selfies that I had taken while I was a sex worker, engaging in an eating disorder, and starting to delve deeper into drug addiction. I spent hours of my time getting 'dolled up' just to sit in front of the mirror to take the perfect picture, in a way to prove to myself that I was okay. I looked perfect didn't I?
Within each painting I am located in a mid century home rendered in a rather rudimentary way while the house is being destroyed in one way or another.
